Animesh Shukla – With my thirst for knowledge + helpful nature, I have discovered myself to be a natural mentor + tutor to students + friends for more than a decade. Interested in everything, I take a systems approach to learning. In my education, I am graduating from McMaster in health sciences but outside of school, I have many interests + work experiences, including: life guard + water safety instructor at City of Burlington, warehouse/volunteer coordinator + customer service at Habitat for Humanity, participant in Youth Job Connection, volunteer with Autism Job Club, + liaison with McMaster Autism Assistance Program. In addition to my academic + career pursuits I have done everything from getting a black belt in karate to running a DND group of fantastic nerds. I look forward to helping you find your own niches in life, going beyond school towards personal fulfillment.
Jorren Meeussen – In elementary school, I discovered a sincere pleasure in helping classmates with math + tailoring instruction to their individual learning needs. By the time I was a high school senior, I was tutoring students in a formal math clinic setting as well as privately. I have always been fascinated with the world around me from man-made machines to insects + other creatures. These early passions led to my studies in mechatronics, computers, geoscience, + ecology/evolution in university at graduate + post-graduate levels. I continue to share my enthusiasm with others to help them discover themselves through science, math, logic + intuition in solving school + real world problems. A couple of experiences I am most proud of are competing in robotics + canoeing 550km north to James Bay. It's unique experiences like these that give you an appreciation for who you are in the world, what is around you, + what is possible. ...learn more
Maralyn Ellis – For more than ten years, I've enjoyed helping people achieve their schooling, career + employment goals. My formal education is in psychology + environmental studies, but if you ask colleagues what my special ability is... it's seeing + fostering the best in people, even when they don't see it themselves! I am passionate in recognizing + honouring individual differences + in being a catalyst to finding the path that fits the person - whether that be formal education or on-the-job learning. In addition to building my current psychotherapy practice + counselling Futures Found clients, I have worked with a neurodivergent population, spearheading an Autism Job Club + a Project SEARCH Halton school-to-work initiative at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital... along with helping students start a business at Summer Company! ...learn more

student + parent testimonials for futures found
"Thank you for your thoughtful approach to my son's education. He feels more confident in his strengths and what programs he plans to apply for after graduation. The flow chart you designed was very helpful as well. I look forward to going through your modules again with my other children." |
Futures Found took a great interest in my education, hobbies and skills set, and with their encouragement I decided to pursue an Honours Bachelor of Music Therapy program, from which I recently graduated. Futures Found was perceptive, positive, and dedicated to every task they took on with me." |
Working with Futures Found was a really eye-opening experience for me. As a Grade 12 student, it finally got me really thinking about my courses, grades and the fields I was interested in and could potentially continue studying after high school. Futures Found even helped me create a list of specific careers that could work for me, and it was an overall extremely helpful experience.
